About this event

Join us at the Threat Modeling Hackathon Season 2 and put your threat modeling skills to the test in the world of AI Threat Modeling. You’ll be challenged to improve the security posture of an AI-assisted coding tool through a thorough threat modeling exercise, identify potential security risks, and propose innovative solutions.

Each team members on the winning team will receive:

Software developers and security engineers interested in learning more about threat modeling or putting their skills to the test are welcome to join. Beginner is 100% welcome! You don’t need any prior experience in threat modeling and/or software security.

FAQ

Q: Is there a registration fee for the hackathon? A: No, registration for the hackathon is free to join for all.

Q: How many people are in one team? A: Teams can consist of 3-5 people. You can sign up with your teammates or individually, and if you sign up individually, you will be assigned to a team of 3-5 people.

Q: How long does it take to complete the assignment? A: The time required to complete the assignment varies based on the skills and experience levels of team members and the team's organization. Last year, completion times ranged from a couple of hours to over 10 hours. We recommend team captains schedule an initial 30-minute meeting, followed by weekly 30-minute checkpoints with mentors, allowing teams to work asynchronously between checkpoints. The submission period spans 3 weeks.

Q: Do we decide ourselves the amount of time we dedicate to the hackathon? A: Yes, the submission period runs for three weeks, from April 1st to April 21st. However, attendance is mandatory for the kick-off ceremony on April 2nd, from 10:00 to 10:50 AM ET. Apart from this, participants have the flexibility to collaborate with our team and determine the time they'd like to dedicate to working on the assignment during the three-week period.
