Hello Hackers!It’s been an incredible month…we hope you had as much fun hacking and threat modeling as we did organizing it!As an inaugural hackathon, we’re thrilled to gather participants across 21 time zones and are impressed by the intensity and calibre of the submissions received. Congratulations to the Champions and to every team that successfully completed this challenge  👏👏! We just released the exclusive Spring 2023 Hackathon Hacker Badges to all active members of the teams with a complete submission as a recognition of your achievement in completing this hackathon. Allowed tool use in the hackathonAnnouncement

Hi everyone!A question was brought up about whether diagramming tools are allowed for this hackathon. Here's the list of acceptable tools for diagramming and/or whiteboarding: Visio Draw.io  Lucidchart Miro Mural However, no tools that perform threat modeling-specific analysis are allowed, as stated in the hackathon rule #9.

Spring 2023 Hackathon in Full Swing!News

🎉 We just kicked off the Spring 2023 Hackathon this morning!Insecure design is now listed as number 4 in the OWASP Top 10 Web Application Security Risks. In recognition of International Women’s Day, our inaugural hackathon is designed to promote data privacy early in the software development lifecycle. With 70+ community members joining us live from all over the world at the Global Kick-Off, we had a incredible morning together and enjoyed: a delicious🍦 keynote speech by @Kim highlighting why the privacy posture of any software is more critical than ever and how “privacy by design” can be achieved through threat modeling  a story from @purpleanchovy illustrating how a system’s intended functions can be misused and hurt people and how threat modeling could help address that a hands-on workshop led by @Chris Romeo that took us from performing threat modeling to a house, to an alarm system, and finally to a database great collaboration among the hackathon teams facilitated by ment

Hackathon SpiritHackathons are like marathons: Some come to compete, and others come to learn, challenge themselves, and have fun. Whatever brings you here, make sure you’re upholding the spirit of the hackathon by collaborating with your teams, helping beginners, and having fun! The Rules of the Hackathon You must treat all team members, competitors, judges, mentors, etc, with respect and courtesy, abiding by the Threat Modeling Connect Community Guidelines. Failure to respond to the registration confirmation email by Feb 22, 2023 means that you will not be assigned to a team and must therefore be removed from the competition. All hackathon participants must be members of the Threat Modeling Connect community, and must not be part of the organizing, judging, mento,r or any other team responsible for the event.
