Introducing ThreatModCon 2025 Washington, D.C. Conference Buddy Program

We’re excited to launch a brand-new networking pilot for ThreatModCon 2025 Washington, D.C. – the Conference Buddy Program! This initiative is designed to make your conference experience even more rewarding by connecting you with fellow attendees before, during, and after the event.

Apply by Friday, October 24th, to participate!

What is the Conference Buddy Program?

The program pairs attendees with a “Buddy” to encourage knowledge sharing, mentorship, collaboration, and professional relationship building. It’s a structured yet flexible way to meet new people, deepen existing connections, and get the most out of ThreatModCon.

Who Should Apply?

The Conference Buddy Program is open to all ThreatModCon 2025 DC attendees, and it’s especially valuable for:

• New attendees looking to build their professional network in threat modeling
• Returning participants hoping to strengthen existing connections
• Anyone interested in mentorship opportunities, whether as a mentor or a mentee

Note: Buddy matches will depend on enrollment numbers, so applying doesn’t guarantee participation.

• Oct 24: Application deadline
• Oct 29: Buddy pairings announced
• Oct 30–Nov 6: First virtual meet-up (self-scheduled)
• Nov 7–8: ThreatModCon 2025 Washington, D.C.
• Nov 9–15: Final virtual meeting (self-scheduled)

How It Works

Before the Conference:

• Apply by Oct 24 to be considered for a Buddy match.
• Once matched, participants will receive an introductory email.
• Buddies are encouraged to schedule a brief 15–30 minute virtual meet-up to get acquainted.

During the Conference:
Buddies are there to support each other and make the most of the conference. Here’s what that looks like:

Expected:

• Foster a welcoming experience for all attendees
• Facilitate introductions
• Mentors: Help your Buddy navigate the conference
• Mentees: Ask questions, engage, and learn!

Encouraged:

• Attend ThreatModCon Night before the conference together
• Meet for breakfast at ThreatModCon (breakfast starts at 8AM)
• Take notes and share insights with your Buddy

After the Conference:

• Schedule a final virtual chat to reflect on your experience, exchange key learnings, and discuss actionable takeaways from the event.
