TMC Tokyo

The Threat Modeling Connect Tokyo Chapter (TMC Tokyo) is a vendor-neutral and open community dedicated to sharing knowledge and practical experience in threat modeling, with the goal of raising the overall skill level of the community. In December 2024, it rebranded from the "Threat Modeling Open Community" and began its activities as one of the global chapters of Threat Modeling Connect. TMC Tokyo regularly hosts meetups called "Threat Modeling Night," where members share the latest topics and real-world case studies related to threat modeling. The chapter actively collaborates with regional communities across Japan, strengthening local engagement and knowledge exchange. It also fosters connections with communities in other fields, such as software design and development, to encourage interdisciplinary learning and promote secure design practices across domains.

Chapter Highlights

TMC Tokyo has hosted a variety of hands-on events to bridge theory and practice in threat modeling. One highlight was the “ZANSIN x TMC Tokyo” event, which featured a morning threat modeling workshop followed by an afternoon defensive security competition, allowing participants to analyze and then actively defend a realistic system. In a separate initiative, TMC Tokyo also organized an immersive threat modeling workshop in a virtual reality environment, enabling participants from different locations to collaborate in a shared, interactive space.
